Krissy: Hi Claudia! Thank you for joining us today. To start, can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start Claudia’s Spa?
Claudia: Hi Krissy! Thank you for having me. I’m Claudia, and I’ve been passionate about wellness and self-care for as long as I can remember. I started working as a spa therapist 17 years ago and I love my job. A few years later on May 15th, 2012 I started Claudia’s Spa here in Puerto Vallarta, because I wanted to create a space where people could relax and recharge. Over the years, we’ve expanded to offer both in-spa treatments and traveling spa services. When I started I only had 2 massage tables and only a few clients. Now I oversee and train multiple massage therapists. It’s been amazing to bring a sense of calm and luxury to people, whether they’re visiting us or we’re going to them. I am passionate about what I do and continue to educate myself in this field.
Krissy: What services do you currently offer at Claudia’s Spa?
Claudia: We offer a wide range of services, including massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, and pedicures. We also provide customized packages for individuals or groups, depending on their preferences. For those who prefer to unwind in the comfort of their own space, we bring our services directly to them through our traveling spa options. It’s perfect for anyone looking to relax, whether it’s a vacationer, a local resident, or a group celebrating a special occasion.
Krissy: That’s such a great range of services! What do you think sets Claudia’s Spa apart from other spas in the area?
Claudia: I think it’s our focus on personalization and creating a truly relaxing experience. We really listen to our clients to understand what they need, whether it’s a deep tissue massage after a long week or a fun and relaxing spa day for a group. Our traveling services also make it easy for people to enjoy a spa experience wherever they are, which is something not many other spas offer.
Krissy: You mentioned your traveling spa services. Can you share more about how those work and who they’re ideal for?
Claudia: Of course! Our traveling spa services are all about convenience and comfort. We bring everything needed—massage tables, aromatherapy oils, and even music—to transform any space into a spa. It’s great for people staying in vacation rentals or hosting events like bachelorette parties, weddings, or family gatherings. We can accommodate both individuals and larger groups, and we make sure everyone feels pampered and rejuvenated.
Krissy: That sounds amazing. What do you find most rewarding about running Claudia’s Spa?
Claudia: Seeing the transformation in our clients is the most rewarding part. When someone comes in feeling stressed or overwhelmed and leaves feeling relaxed and happy, it’s such a great feeling. I also love building relationships with our clients and becoming part of their special moments, whether it’s helping them celebrate a milestone or simply giving them a chance to take a break from their busy lives.
Krissy: How has being part of the Puerto Vallarta community influenced your business?
Claudia: Puerto Vallarta is such a beautiful and welcoming place, and the community here has been incredibly supportive. I’ve been able to meet so many amazing people, both locals and visitors, through my work. It’s also inspiring to see how much people value self-care and wellness here. It motivates me to keep improving and offering the best possible services.
